Our original designs are influenced by traditional tools, antique woodenware, early American furniture, and Sloyd (the Swedish handcraft tradition). The result is functional forms composed of graceful lines and pleasing proportions while highlighting the natural colors and patterns of the wood. 
Handsome Tool Co. is the culmination of the value these tools have proven in Sten’s own life, and the positive response from friends and family over the years.

Yankee Thrift 

Many of our tools are made from off-cuts and scraps from our parent company, Oak & Laurel Workshop. A humble piece of wood that is unusable for furniture and scraps that were destined for the wood stove can find a new lease on life in a beautiful tool that will bring years of value to you. 

Small Batches

Our tools are crafted in small batches sometimes limited to the stock available. Sten selects and processes the wood, shapes, turns, sands and finishes each piece by hand. As a fine furniture maker and wood carver, Sten has very high standards. This process takes time and produces truly beautiful, useful tools for your continued enjoyment.
